A Message from the President and CEO of FSW

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Family Services of Westchester’s (FSW) new website. When FSW started in 1954, our budget was $20,000 with a staff of one case worker. Today we have a budget of approximately $20,000,000 with a staff of 450 and multiple sites throughout Westchester County. Our 55 programs reach more than 30,000 people a year, including teens, children, adults, families affected by HIV/AIDS, and Latino immigrants. Throughout our 57 year history, our mission has been to strengthen and support families, children and individuals at every stage of the life cycle.
I became FSW’s 4th President/CEO in 2008 at a time when the U.S. economy was in crisis. At this time, three years later, we are still trying to weather the storm, but the excellence of our staff, the strength of our programs and the generosity of our supporters has helped us survive.
I feel privileged to be connected to such a professional organization, whose staff, volunteers and dedicated Board of Directors are committed to our mission. All of them contribute directly to the long-term success and resilience of FSW.
FSW is a proud member of the Better Business Bureau and accredited by the Council on Accreditation. We take pride that more than 90 cents of every dollar goes directly toward programs that serve our mission.
As you review our new website, I hope that it will motivate you to want to learn more about the valuable work that we do in Westchester County. Seeing our work first-hand is always the most ideal way to comprehend the impact FSW has on the individuals and families we serve. If, however, you cannot schedule a visit, I hope that you will connect with us and choose to interact with us in some other way. Together we can make a positive difference in the lives of so many.
