One of the biggest challenges facing families today is finding the services that enable seniors – regardless of financial means – to live their later years in dignity in the county they call home. Family Services of Westchester is helping families meet this challenge by providing a continuum of care for the elderly, with a menu of options that support seniors and meet their special needs. FSW works with families to design a plan of care that keeps seniors safe and enhances their quality of life. Drawing on FSW’s broad spectrum of services, our professional staff of social workers, MDs, RNs and other health care providers offers seniors access to resources, quality care wherever needed and emotional support.
For example, FSW’s Home Health Care program can provide one-on-one assistance, personal care and support to those with chronic or acute needs who want to remain in their own homes. FSW also provides Geriatric Outreach services, including in-home counseling for seniors who are experiencing depression, anxiety and other symptoms that may require support services.
My Second Home is an adult day program offering an affordable alternative to assisted living and nursing home care. Its intergenerational approach, extensive activities, and beautiful facility have won this unique program national recognition.
FSW also offers Enriched Housing for seniors at Maple House in Ossining and the White Plains Guest House. Residents, most of whom are living on Supplemental Security Income, receive personalized home care, three meals daily, transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping, plus a wide range of social and recreational activities.
