Westchester County’s number of homeless students has grown by 40%, from 1,367 in 2007-2008 to 1,910 in 2010-2011. Of the 1,910 students, 1,241 are living in temporary housing with relatives, friends or other individuals; this is up by 53% from 2007-2008. nysteachs.org

The unemployment rate for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties are up from 6.8% in June 2011 to 7.4% in June 2012.

FSW has more than 50 programs to fit the needs of Westchester’s growing and changing population and we have 7 mental health centers located in the communities that have the greatest need.
