Early Childhood Respite

Early Childhood Respite is a home/community based program that supports and assists
parents and children, ages birth to five, who receive preventive services in Westchester County.
This FSW program utilizes a strength-based approach in building positive parent/child
relationships. The clinicians address the stressors and issues within the home as well
as the current parenting techniques being utilized. Early Childhood Respite focuses on
parenting skills, promotes positive disciplinary strategies and models healthy and positive
communication. Education is provided for child development, age-appropriate play
activities, and relating positively through play. In addition, the program helps parents
and children become involved in their communities, engage in outings and assist researching
appropriate resources and activities.
