Teen Boutique

Westchester’s clothing bank for children, The Sharing Shelf of FSW, hosts its Teen Boutique twice a year.  The event is a free, one-day shopping boutique for girls ages 13-19, from families in financial need.  Teen girls are invited to Teen Boutique by social service agencies, schools, food pantries and community groups. Each girl is invited to choose and take home a week’s worth of clothing from thousands of donated clothing items, as well as shoes and accessories.  Everything we offer is screened before the event for quality and we offer only items that are new or gently worn and age appropriate. Since our first event in November 2012, we’ve hosted 10 events serving over 1,500 teen girls from throughout Westchester and distributing nearly 40,000 items.

The Sharing Shelf organizes Teen Boutique twice a year – November and April – in conjunction with volunteers and community groups.

How you can help:

Donate Clothing

We distribute over 5,000 clothing and accessory items at each event and need your donations. You can organize a clothing drive at your school, house of worship, among your friends and neighbors, and at work for seasonal and style appropriate clothing for teen girls from size Adult XS through plus sizes. Clothing should be new or gently used and intended for teens (not clothing that “might fit a teen”).

Do you work in a store or have a friend in the retail business? Organize a collection among your colleagues and ask them to bring in their clothing. Or, approach your favorite store and ask the store manager to run a drive among their employees or customers.

We have an ACUTE need for jeans and shorts in Women’s sizes 10 and up, and tops in sizes adult large, XL and XXL. If you don’t have your own items to donate, please consider donating new items in these sizes.

Clothing donation locations can be found here.

Donate New Underwear, New Socks and New Bras

We strive to provide each girl with new underwear and new socks at each Teen Boutique. Sadly, we’ve found many girls who attend lack this basic necessity. We need new underwear in all women’s sizes, from XS or 0 through a women’s 18. You can purchase underwear or click here.

Volunteer

Volunteers are critical to the success of Teen Boutique and each season over 200 volunteers come together to create a special occasion. Volunteers plan the event, organize clothing drives, sort clothing in our warehouse, create goody bags for each girl, then move the clothing, set up and run Teen Boutique. Learn More >

The next Teen Boutique will be held in New Rochelle on Saturday November, 11th at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle.
Please note that this event is NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND PRIOR REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND AND/OR VOLUNTEER.
