Family Services of Westchester will participate in the national Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service by joining The Volunteer Center with two special volunteer projects. On January 18th and 20th volunteers will participate at The Sharing Shelf and My Second Home. Volunteers at the Sharing Shelf will sort and organize donations into packages of a week’s worth of clothing for children in need in Westchester County. Volunteers have always been the driving force at The Sharing Shelf and their efforts ensure that more than 150 children every month receive essential clothing. Volunteers at My Second Home, FSW’s intergenerational adult day program in Mt. Kisco, will entertain our older participants with a cello recital as well as join them for arts and crafts and games. FSW is grateful to The Volunteer Center for coordinating this valuable day of service and for connecting us to volunteers who enrich our programs and enable us to carry out our work in the community.
