FSW’s Head Start/Early Head Start is a federal government program that was created in 1965 to give preschool children from low-income families a “head start” on their readiness for elementary school.

PURPOSE:

To Administer and coordinate the health and welfare of children and staff.

JOB SUMMARY:

Family Services of Westchester is looking for full-time Health Specialist for our Port Chester, NY Head Start program. We are hiring for multiple locations throughout Westchester County.

POSITION:  Health Specialist

STATUS:  Full-time/Permanent

SALARY:  $40,000.00/Year

SUPERVISED BY:  Senior Health/Nutrition Manager, Head Start

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure health and safety guidelines for children.
  • Maintain detailed, Up-to-date confidential children and staff medical records/files
  • Keep track of health services, tracking systems, documentation of all Medical, Dental exams and screenings
  • Monitor ongoing health status of enrolled children
  • Administration of medication as per the program policy and doctors’ orders

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or have experience in any related field

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

  • Performance will be evaluated based on Performance and Goals
