FSW’s Head Start/Early Head Start is a federal government program that was created in 1965 to give preschool children from low-income families a “head start” on their readiness for elementary school.
JOB DETAILS:
Family Services of Westchester is looking for a full time Janitor/Maintenance person for our 17 Spring Street Port Chester, NY Head Start program and 400 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY Children’s Place facility. We are hiring for multiple locations throughout Westchester County.
POSITION TITLE: Janitor/Maintenance
STATUS: Permanent/Full Time
SUPERVISED BY: Site Director
PURPOSE: To assist the Site Director in maintaining the cleanliness and additional maintenance of the two locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Daily cleaning of classrooms: emptying trash, etc.
- Cleaning up spills and responding to other urgent matters.
- Setup classrooms, and move furniture.
- Light maintenance: replacing lightbulbs, unclogging toilets, etc.
- Other facility tasks as assigned by Site Director.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School
- COVID-19 vaccination is required to work at Family Services of Westchester. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 must be submitted as part of employment application.
