Target’s Port Chester Store Grants Holiday Wishes for Two FSW Families

The wish lists for two Port Chester families were fulfilled thanks to a generous gift from Target’s Port Chester Location. With two $250 gift cards donated by Target, FSW was able to shop for necessities that will bring the families comfort and hope through holiday season.

To connect with families for this generous donation, Target inquired with FSW because of its close ties to the community.  FSW operates a mental health center at One Gateway Plaza in Port Chester that is staffed by a highly trained team of social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists. The clinic serves families of all income levels, including those with low income.  FSW’s Port Chester Clinic Director, Lupita DeLuccia identified two families who would most benefit from a “helping hand” this holiday season.

Both families face extreme financial hardships and work closely with FSW to achieve goals, build on their strengths and overcome any obstacles. FSW staff members worked with each family to develop a wish list. Some of the items were general necessities like diapers and crib sheets, and others were winter essentials like blankets, shoes, a sweater and a coat. FSW staff visited the store and were greeted by two Target employees who helped them hand-pick the perfect items for the families.

“This generous gift from Target will give this family strength to face life’s challenges and help them feel some holiday magic,” stated Karen Fink, Vice President of Clinical Services. “Partners like Target help us deliver on our mission to create hope, restore dignity and connect families with the resources they need to thrive.”
