Volunteers and Donations needed for Girl-Topia, November 17, 2013

The Sharing Shelf’s third Girl-Topia, a special one-day shopping event for girls and teens, will take place Sunday, November 17th at the Carver Center in Port Chester, with set-up on November 16th.  We are seeking volunteers between 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday to help with set-up and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We will have various shifts and registration is required. This is an excellent opportunity for teens to earn community service hours.

The Junior League of Westchester on the Sound is taking the lead. If you would like to get involved, please reach out to Rosa Broseman (r2bros@hotmail.com) or email The Sharing Shelf (thesharingshelf@fsw.org).

We will be accepting fall and winter teen clothing for this event through October 21st.  We have an acute need for larger sizes, including jeans above a size 9/10 as well as sweatshirts, sweaters, coats, sweats and leggings in adult L and XL (teen styles only). We are accepting new and lightly used shoes and boots.

Social workers interested in registering their clients, please contact Deborah Blatt. Girls must be between 13 – 18 years old from Westchester County.
