Purchase, NY – The Junior Board of FSW of Family Services of Westchester (FSW), today announced that it will host its Eleventh Annual Wine Tasting and Shopping Event at Wainwright House in Rye on June 6 from 7:00pm – 9:00 PM. There will be wine samplings, hors d’oeuvres and a variety of specialty merchants. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Junior Board’s Enrichment Fund.
Griffin Wine & Spirits in Rye is curating the wine vendors for the evening, and there will be over 20 wines to sample. Some of the shopping vendors include: Lady Ming, The Chintz Giraffe, Ilyes Pieces, Barre Bodywear and Upstate Aura.
Founded in January 2011, FSW’s Junior Board is a group of young professionals and community-minded individuals who are dedicated to promoting FSW’s mission of providing mental health and social service programs to those in need. The Junior Board increases awareness of the organization and connects FSW to resources through a variety of educational, recreational and service initiatives. The Junior Board provides targeted, supplemental grants to FSW’s youth and family programs through its Enrichment Fund. Below are highlights of the grants awarded in the past year:
- 28 Chromebooks Purchased for FSW Head Start Students
- 70 Youth in Respite Program Sent to a New York Liberty WNBA Basketball Game
- 1 Family of Eight Adopted for the Holidays
- 35 Families Fed with Thanksgiving Meals
“It’s an inspiration to witness how swiftly our Junior Board has responded to the needs of our FSW community,” stated Polly Kerrigan, President and CEO of FSW. “As their biggest fundraiser of the year, proceeds from the Wine Tasting will allow the Junior Board to continue making an immediate impact on children and families of our County.”
