Family Services of Westchester’s annual Adopt a Family gift drive makes the holidays brighter for Westchester families who are unable to buy essentials and gifts this holiday season. The holidays can be an extremely difficult time of year for families and children who have been struggling, and this drive provides for some of those families in Westchester.
Our mental health clinicians, social workers, teachers and staff identify families in need from their programs and submit the applications for holiday “adoption.” Sponsors will be matched with an anonymous “adoptee” family from Westchester County. We provide some basic information about them along with their holiday wish list of items. Volunteers can shop for what they choose, and deliver the (preferably wrapped) gifts to FSW by the designated date/place. Our program staff personally deliver the items to each family at locations all over Westchester County. For our staff, it is an amazing experience to be a part of, and a meaningful way to enjoy the season. By adopting a family for the holidays, you will make a direct impact on our families and give them a renewed sense of joy and hope. Email fsw@fsw.org.
