Holiday Gratitude Abounds at Head Start

It’s beginning to look a LOT like Holiday Gratitude Central over at FSW’s Lanza Family Center for All Ages and other Head Start locations in White Plains!

We hardly know where to BEGIN expressing our thanks to all of the individuals and community groups whose generosity is making the holidays extra special for our preschoolers and their families.

  • Our Early Head Start and Head Start children have received gifts from Toys for Tots Westchester and several independent toy drives.
  • Westchester’s Nifty Knitters have made hand-knitted blankets for our home-based Early Head Start families. The Woman’s Club of White Plains has donated winter hats and over 70 pairs of mittens to keep our preschoolers healthy and warm.
  • For the third year in a row, volunteers from Morgan Stanley have played Santa and given each child at Head Start Rochambeau a wrapped book.
  • The Hudson Valley Ballet has treated 100 students and their families to performances of The Nutcracker.
  • And because it’s only fair that Head Start Eastview, CFAA, Bethel and Slater receive visits from Santa, too, we’ve been lucky that Santa 2.0 has been available! Can you guess what FSW Board member looks ESPECIALLY at home in his fetching red suit?
